Investing House: Angel Track

Saturday, October 27th, 9:00 am-5:00 pm

We will start with what it means to be an angel investor and then give you a glimpse into how experienced angel investors got into angel investing and operate on a daily basis.  There will be practical sessions on due diligence and what to look for in a pitch with a wrap up by two experienced VCs.  We will wrap up the day with an opportunity to connect with other attendees to build your investor network over some Italian wine made by female vintners.  No experience necessary but we are looking for women who are actively interested in becoming angel investors or becoming better angel investors. 

 

Meet Terri Mead, Host of the Investing House's Angel Track  

Terri is an angel investor and invests in digital health startups (FemTech/PediaTech). She regularly advises startups on fundraising and general business strategy. She is actively working to level the playing field for women, people of color, and LGBTQ+. 

 
Meet Nancy Hayes
 
Nancy Hayes is an active angel investor focused on women-led companies and serves as advisor to female entrepreneurs.

She has been a senior executive of the IBM Corporation, CEO of two nonprofits, Dean of the College of Business at San Francisco State University, CFO of the university, cofounder of a crowdfunding site and Managing Director of Golden Seeds angel group.

Nicole Dahlstrom, founder of Femtech Collective and host of the Women's Health House, sat down with Nimisha Gandhi to learn more about what she is planning for SERENDIPITY 2018!

Nimisha will be leading a session all about the future of family and fertility planning.

 

Meet Nimisha:

Nimisha is a functional medicine nutritionist, Ayurvedic counselor, and Yoga Nidra teacher. She holds a B.S. in Psychobiology from UCLA and has years of additional education in clinical research, gut microbiome, female, and environmental health.

Ancient healing practices and modern medicine have shaped Nimisha's understanding of mind-body-spirit wellness since childhood. She believes that ritual and pleasure are at the core of healing. Nimisha's ultimate mission is to help others awaken their inner healer and cultivate their connection to the natural world. In her private practice, Moon Cycle Nutrition, Nimisha works with teenage girls, fertility, prenatal, and postpartum woman as well as autoimmune conditions and rebalancing the gut microbiome. 

Nimisha serves as a board member of several health and wellness companies and organizations. She speaks regularly at conferences, retreats, and private events. You can also find Nimisha leading workshops and classes throughout SF and beyond.

Meet Sensi

Sensi is a professional kiteboarder, swimwear designer, entrepreneur, writer and kiteboarding coach. In 2007, Sensi tentatively signed up for a kiteboarding lesson in North Carolina’s Outer Banks and immediately fell in love. Just two years later, she applied to be a kiteboarding coach, relocated to the East Coast, and started collecting accolades. The Hood River, Oregon, local regularly places in the top three at some of the biggest international kiteboarding invitationals, garners continuous coverage in kiteboarding magazines, and even launched her eponymous swimwear label, Sensi Graves Bikinis, to meet the demands of her sport (after losing one too many string bikinis in the surf, she decided to tackle the job herself and design suits that actually stay on in rough conditions).
